Honda-sponsored
Stotz Racing to appear in NHRA Sport Compact Racing Series exhibition
Honda Rider’s Club of America sponsored Stotz Racing is
pleased to announce a street motorcycle drag racing exhibition
with the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Sport Compact Racing
Series in conjunction with the 5th annual NHRA Sport Compact Fallnationals
at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Englishtown, N.J., September
30 – October 1.
“This NHRA series is the preeminent sports car drag racing
series in America and we are very pleased to be able to showcase
our 500-horsepower pro street bikes before thousands of young,
tech-savvy racing fans,” said four-time AMA/Prostar champion
Kent Stotz, the founder and owner of Stotz Racing. “This
exhibition will serve as the springboard for a year-long program
with the NHRA Sport Compact Series in 2007.”

Stotz is no stranger to the world of mega-horsepower street tire
motorcycle drag racing. Earlier this year at the AMA/Prostar BikeWeek
Nationals in Valdosta, Ga., Stotz reeled off an incredible run
of five consecutive 200 mph passes on his turbocharged, 550 horsepower
Honda CBR1100XX, setting and resetting the record books five times.
He is also preparing a Honda CBR1000RR to compete in AMA/Prostar’s
Pro Street and Super Street classes, the latter representing Prostar’s
newest entry-level class for street riders.
Stotz has kept the Honda CBR1100XX fires stoked this year. Most
recently he appeared at the Spring Nationals in Byron, Ill., May
6-7, winning the final with power to spare. His next race appearance
will be at the Bike Nationals in Englishtown, NY, July 8-9, followed
by an AMA/Prostar competition at Indianapolis Raceway Park on
August 12-13.
Racing fans attending the Honda Hoot in Knoxville, Tenn., are
in for a treat as Stotz will have both Honda CBR-powered drag
racers on display at Chilhowee Park in the vendor display area,
June 21-24.
